Facilitators and Educators Training in Education (FETE) Program
What is the FETE Program?
First of its kind, the Facilitators & Educators Training in Education (FETE) programme is designed to support and train primary school teachers in Trinidad and Tobago in the use of some elements from the Performing Arts Primary school curriculum.
Hosted by the Secondary Schools’ Drama Association, The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, UNESCO and The University of the West Indies, training will be provided for selected teachers in the implementation of the Drama, Dance and Music components of the Primary school VAPA curriculum.
Participants are expected to complete a 10-week program on Saturdays, in the initial stages, which will be a mix of online and physical sessions dependent on the participating teachers.
The workshops are free and are designed for committed and interested persons who believe this can be of benefit to them and their schools.
What is expected of trainees?
Trainees are expected to be present for more than 75% of the program. This attendance must be either online or physical dependent on the needs of the session. This will determine certification at the end of the program.
There is a possibility of attending sessions in both Trinidad and Tobago. Discussions will be held on what is the best way moving forward with this.
Must be engaged in the process. Be involved. Share and brainstorm ideas. This is an immersive exercise and the ideas are dependent on what you bring to the table from what is learnt.
Be open to try new and innovative strategies. All ideas are welcomed.
Recordings and photos will be taken for documentation purposes
Share your new skills. Participate in the I Am Festival in May 2024
